ATC schedule

Hi! I've just started really learning to use vRoute, and I notice that when I select a route, I can see a schedule that shows 1) which areas have ATC coverage along my route, 2) which areas have scheduled ATC coverage along my route, and 3) what percentage of the time I can expect ATC along my route at given times of day.

Is there any way to get this sort of information (particularly pre-scheduled ATC coverage) for various areas without first selecting a vRoute flight plan that goes through said area?

No, not universally on VATSIM. Some divisions use that system, some don't. It's been written about many times in the forums if you want to read the gory details. TL;DR: Some see the value in scheduling shifts, and some don't want to feel tied down to a shift and/or they just pop on when they have the available time.

Yeah, I understand that, and vRoute has ways of displaying both. I just wish there were a list of the people who do want to prearrange time slots.

You can always look to local facility websites, which display bookings on their front page. You often also find events too. For example:

VATSIM-UK: https://vatsim.uk/

VATSIM Scandinavia: http://vatsim-scandinavia.org/

VATFrance: http://vatfrance.org/

These systems all synchronise with vRoute hence why you see them when you are flight planning there.

Hi Philip,

just download the freeware tool Qutescoop: https://sourceforge.net/projects/qutescoop/

After starting it, just hit CTRL-F8 and you'll get a tabular display of ATC-reservations of the set date, starting-time and time-range. Change the starting-time (GMT, zulu) to what your normal flying time is and you'll get an updated list. Then hit the butting "warp to" on the top-right corner of the booking-interface and you'll get all those stations shown on the world-display. It is pretty neat and intuitive.
