yes and yes

 

trick is knowing where you can and shouldnt be (not in the cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] B for example)

 

there are areas for glider activity and more then welcome, you just need to know what you are doing so you dont get yourself into trouble doing it

if you look on a sectional chart for example. youll see a little airplane icon with a G which is the icon for gliders. generally found where there is glider activity

 

here you can find an example of where ive often flown to in the real world, always some gliders flying around there. youll notice its in the Mode C veil but outside the Bravo

Gliders dont normally fly out of towered airports gr[Mod - Happy Thoughts] runways tend to be preferred for them as well, chances of causing a conflict = nil

 

there are also powered and unpowered gliders. powered gliders have an engine which they use to move around the field and get airborne. unpowered gliders are towed
