Hello. I want to change my division from Europe to the UK. I decided to do it from the dashboard but I got this msg:

"Sorry, but we were unable to complete your request.

You have already been [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to the Europe (except UK) division. Please contact the division director for further information on changing your division."

The problem is that I don't know who to contact in order to change my division. If you can give me a contact guys I will really appreciate it.

Hi Norman,

Can you explain why this is even happening? The UK division is drowning under their training demand (which they are trying very hard to clear) yet people are still allowed to transfer in.

Thanks,

Dan.

The member has no ATC rating. Therefore no issue.

Note that if the member were from anywhere except Europe the transfer would have been automated.

Thanks for your reply.

So the system just relies on them to get bored of waiting rather than actively managing numbers?

I have no idea what you are trying to say here Daniel.

i think hes under the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]umption that because someone can join the region, he can somehow jump the line or something for ATC training or now has to be added to the training list.

two different things Daniel. or is it now local policy to block people from joining a region? which again is separate from becoming a controller.

if the user intends to become a controller at some point, this is only the first step which places no demand on anyone to start that process. Some of the pilot training groups ive heard also require joining a region

or simply wants his stats to show that (as with most pilots) this is something people can do when they join, some only figure that out later

I took Daniel's meaning to be completely different and in a sense...sarcasm. I understood him to mean "why re[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ign someone to UK when the line to get trained is so long that new trainees get tired of waiting (bored) and move on". I believe he is suggesting it would make more sense to leave Veselin where he was or suggest a region less "behind schedule" so to speak, i.e., actively managing numbers to where they'll get the benefit of training instead of waiting in line.

Of course, that's just my impression. I could be wrong. Usually am!

Well, Randy, if you're wrong, we're wrong together, because that's exactly how I interpreted it.

The member asked to be transferred. He may or may not be aware of the tremendous training queues there. Personally, I think the member should be advised that because of the current training queues, it could be several months, over a year, etc. until he gets any training, so he is welcome to wait in line if that's what he wants, else we're happy to help move him someplace else where the queues aren't that long. That's what I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]umed Daniel meant from the "actively managing" comment.

He is OBS rated. What, pray gentlemen, is the issue?

If the member had a rating he would not have been moved; no matter where their target was. They could have requested anywhere outside of their original Region and been automatically moved, irrespective of any training queues.

A lot of people are [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming the member wants to become a controller yet nothing in his request suggests it. To that end let's call this one closed.
