Hello!

My name is Jasper van Hienen and I am from the Netherlands! I am currently 17 years old and I am very new to the aviation industry. The simulator that I fly in is FSX and my favorite aricraft is the 777-300ER. After joining some multiplayer sessions in FSX I quickly found out that the sessions are overcrowded, are unrealstic, have people yelling though their mic etc. Conlusion: Not realistic at all, and that is why I joined vatsim!

Right now, I have made 4 flights on vatsim. 3x from EGKK to EGCC, and 1x from EGCC to EGKK as KLM12TB(Made up Callsign). My first impressions where great! The controllers where all very helpfull, especially the first one i met on the EGKK ground frequency.

I want to thank all you helpfull people getting me through my first flight and i am looking forward to meeting other simmers!

Welcome Jasper, great enthusiasm! If you want to make social connections in the world of VATSIM, I recommend testing the water with smaller communities than this network-wide forum. Virtual Airlines, flying groups, and perhaps your domestic vACC (dutchvacc.nl in your case). I bet people've been able to connect well with this forum as an arena, but in my experience it's better to start small and perhaps with someone sharing your mother tongue. Otherwise, this forum is a great knowledge base, anything you wonder will have somewhere between 2 and 40 guys throwing their 10cent coins at you.

Have fun with it, and don't ever stop learning!

Welcome Jasper. It's always a pleasure to have more Dutch people here as well.

I suggest joining dutchvacc.nl. There is tons of information about flying to/from/through Dutch airspace and if you want to control at any Dutch airport, that's the place to start (because that's where our Training Department is).

Good to hear, i am already a member of the vacc and learned a lot from the training page! Do you guys also give training for a P1 training course? As I have not gotten any replies back from vateud nor the vatsim Academy.

The Dutch Vacc only offers ATC training for Dutch airports, mainly Schiphol (EHAM). There is a queue though, because there are so many people applying and not enough mentors available.

I believe the Vatsim Academy (https://academy.vatsim.net/) has the P1 course with the required information and a test to complete. Thereafter, the P1 rating will be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned.
