Winds Aloft Question

I've noticed, and I noticed this back when flying in FSX too, that the winds aloft never change for me. I get up to altitude and it stays at one speed and one direction for hours. If I disconnect from the network however, it radically changes and my plane will get a bit flustered for a few seconds to adjusted to the sudden wind change. Then, I'll reconnect again and it changes back to the original same, constant speed and direction it was before. Is this due to vatsim's weather data? or is it because of something I am doing incorrectly?

I am running:

Windows 10 64 bit

X-Plane 10.52

xSquawkbox

SkyMaxx 4.5 Pro

This is a known issue with default FSX (and probably P3D) weather. I highly recommend ActiveSky as the best weather engine for ESP platforms. In addition to giving you a much more accurate and realistic upper wind simulation, you'll find many of the other weather simulation elements become a LOT more enjoyable.

I highly recommend the [XPGFS] NOAA Weather plugin.

Thanks 1275389.

Do you know if that plugin will conflict with SkyMaxx 4 or not?

I don't. There is however a big thread on the org with people that will know the answer (including joan, the developer).

Downloaded it and got it loaded up in X-Plane. The docomeentation says it's fully compatible with SkyMaxx Pro, so in theory, I should be all good. Thanks for this.
