Christoph Reppel Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:23 PM Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:23 PM I am new to vPilot with P3D after using a long time FSInn with FSX. For FSInn the most important line for model matching was the title in the aircraft cfg. What is vPilot looking after? I have 10 of these Airbusses and no one is identified. What line is missing? Thanks. Ross Carlson Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:28 PM Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:28 PM I probably need to add A359 to the valid ICAO aircraft types list. I'll check later today. Christoph Reppel Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:36 PM Author Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:36 PM Ok, I have some more trouble. Could you please check if B788 is in the list. These models are unidentified too. Regards, Chris
Ross Carlson Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:37 PM Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:37 PM Please post all the fields from the cfg file, same as you did for the A359. Christoph Reppel Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:39 PM Author Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:39 PM My B788 looks like this: [fltsim.1]title=GWB788JAL sim=Boeing787 model= sound= panel= texture=JAL ui_manufacturer=GlobusWorld ui_type=Boeing 787-800 ui_variation=Japan Airlines (JAL) description=GlobusWorld B787-800 atc_parking_codes=JAL atc_model=B788 Regards, Chris
Ross Carlson Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:42 PM Posted June 20, 2017 at 03:42 PM Hrmm ... looks right to me. I think B788 is in the list, but maybe not. I'll check later. Christoph Reppel Posted June 20, 2017 at 05:17 PM Author Posted June 20, 2017 at 05:17 PM Thanks, just one more: [fltsim.1]title=WA_MD11AFL sim=md11_GW sound= model=GE_cargo texture=AFL ui_variation=Aeroflot (AFL) ui_manufacturer=GlobusWorld ui_type=MD11 description=GlobusWorld Model McDonnell-Douglas 11 atc_parking_codes=AFL atc_model=MD11 I changed some values in the cfg after vPilot was started the first time. Is there a function to refresh? When I have 30 of 32 aircraft identified, is there a way to see which are the loosers? Regards, Chris
Christoph Reppel Posted June 21, 2017 at 09:24 AM Author Posted June 21, 2017 at 09:24 AM I have it. As I thought vPilot did not check for updates automatically after changing the aircraft.cfg. So I just removed one aircraft folder, started vPilot (new check), put the aircraft folder back to P3D and vPilot checked again. All of my models are now identified. Is there any other way to force vPilot to recheck the models after correcting an aircraft.cfg? Regards, Chris
Ross Carlson Posted June 21, 2017 at 11:09 AM Posted June 21, 2017 at 11:09 AM You could delete the model scan result file, which you'll find in the vPilot installation folder. I'll add a feature request to add a rescan button to the settings window. Ross Carlson Posted August 22, 2017 at 12:26 AM Posted August 22, 2017 at 12:26 AM A "Rescan" button has been added for version 2.1.7 which should be available soon. Lindsey Wiebe 1101951 Posted August 24, 2017 at 12:56 AM Posted August 24, 2017 at 12:56 AM Hi all and Ross, For my vPilot model scan results i get 9,150 models found, 1,285 identified Does this mean i have 7,865 models that will not be used?? I have ivao mtl (yes i know sin) and a lot of the models have the fltsim.xx out of order, does this matter? There is a program AI-Aircraft Editor by Martin Gossmann/The Owl's Nest 2017 that re-sorts them and even re-numbers if necessary so they are sequential... however, with 6,000+ models in the mtl set, i'm hesitant to go through them all; and even the ones i have re-sorted using this program it did not make a difference in the number identified (even using the new Rescan... button. edit: to further under the Advanced section i have CXA models 60, 14 identified then ivao_mtl 6,462 models, 1 identified... ummm... i'm not sure what the identified is representing as there's no mention in the manual or in a good search. Thanks! Mr. VATSIM P2
Ross Carlson Posted August 24, 2017 at 01:36 AM Posted August 24, 2017 at 01:36 AM Yes, they have to be identified in order for vPilot to know how to match them to aircraft you encounter online. IVAO's MTL is not supported, thus none are identified. (The one that is identified is a fluke ... that one just happens to have a proper aircraft.cfg file that contains a proper ICAO aircraft type and ICAO airline prefix.)
