Carlos Perea 934840 Posted June 2, 2006 at 07:29 PM Posted June 2, 2006 at 07:29 PM Practically living at KOPF, I was considering applying for a student controller position at KZMA, but I'm still trying to understand how ASRC and VRC work and which one I'll have an easier time handling. We only teach ASRC in the Academy, so that has been decided for you at this time. We'll add VRC later, but don't let that choice stop you from signing up. Anthony Santanastaso Posted June 9, 2006 at 04:16 PM Posted June 9, 2006 at 04:16 PM Just an update on the radar client situation and the VATUSA Training Academy: The Academy will no longer teach any specific radar client, but will make all the necessary resources available for the programs that are currently used on the network. Students will express their knowledge and understanding of their chosen radar client through successful demonstration working as Clearance Delivery, Ground and Tower during stage examinations. Radar Client specific questions are in the process of being completely removed from the Stage Check Examinations and the individual Stage Tests. The main goal of the Academy is to teach Air Traffic Control, therefor we have tailored each stage to focus solely on FAAO 7110.65 and AIM. Mentors are instructed to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist their students with familiarizing themselves with their specific radar client. This standardized curriculum will now enable us to freely update the radar client list and not have to worry about rewriting the course docomeents and examinations, as well as make us extremely adaptable for the future!
