Wilfredo Resto 1396830 Posted July 5, 2017 at 08:38 PM Posted July 5, 2017 at 08:38 PM Newbie pilot here. I fly a lot from and into small uncontrolled airfields where there is no chart and the taxiway are not named or there are no taxiway. How do I announce that over UNICOM? BTW, is there a place in the forum with FAQ? May be the answer is there but I search the forums and did not find anything on these subject. Robert Shearman Jr Posted July 5, 2017 at 09:30 PM Posted July 5, 2017 at 09:30 PM Announcements about your ground movement don't need to be that specific, because UNICOM/CTAF is really more for in-air traffic coordination in the airspace around the airport. You'd limit your ground transmission to anything an aircraft entering or in the VFR traffic pattern would need to know. "Taxiing to 32 for VFR southbound departure" would more than cover it. Coordination on the ground is less of a radio-based & more of a see-and-avoid process. Cheers, -R.
