Hi.

Im pretty new to VATSIM and has been doing quite some few singleplayer flights with PMDG 737-800. Routes has never been any problems with on singleplayer.

But on VATSIM when i for example is getting my clearance i often get departures (same with arrivals) that i don´t have in my departure SID list.

Does anyone know how i can fix this, i guess there is something i have to update that i don´t know about.

Many thanks

-Daniel

You'd have to update your Navigraph Airac data: https://www.navigraph.com/

You'd have to update your Navigraph Airac data: https://www.navigraph.com/

Is it free of charge?

No, it is payware. You will have to pay for a subscription. In my opinion it is worth it, because you are able to keep up with the latest changes in every AIRAC and that is enhancing the realism. However, it may be a little expensive for some, but I will recommend it. Aerosoft does also provide this, through their NAVDataPro (NDP) software.

Prior to 2006, DAFIF (The Defence force Air data information) was free to users. It was never "that good" but was an (american) Taxypayer (defence force/air force/army) funded initiative to ensure the defence force aircraft would have a basic database for the whole planet - even to airports they don't fly to. The coverage was pretty poor though, as strategic aircraft are likely to only need to fly to large airports, and as such many smaller airports were not included. However for flying a 737 sized jet, it was good enough. Back in the day, Navigraph provided this info for free on their website in the PMDG FMS (and eventually other) formats, since the guy who ran it had made an automated system that just downloaded the AIRAC data 1 day after release from DAFIF and converted it's format into the appropriate files for our Flightsim (2002/2004) FMS's.

Unfortunately in 2006, that source stopped being free, and many countries sell their airac data, for profit, to the airlines, aircraft owners, and the likes of Jeppessen, with copyright protection on the data. Some of these countries have privatized air services (like NATS in the UK) or the copyright is held by the countries' respective governments. Nevertheless, obtaining this data every 28 days is an ongoing cost which Navigraph has to pay if they are to be permitted to provide the data to the community.

The downside is it isn't free anymore, but the upside is that the quality and coverage of the available data has improved, because it's no longer reliant on the USAF data, but on civillian data which includes more airports (yes, including small places that only a small twin engined 6 seater thing can fly to, and may only have a VOR and RNAV approach)

I believe the subscriptions come to something less than $2 per update, and for our purposes, it's quite possible to update 3 or so times per year (say every 4 months) and be "up to date enough".

1 AIRAC purchase covers all formats, so I could buy, say, 1707, and with the 1 purchase, install it into my Majestic Dash-8, PMDG 777/737/MD11/747/JS4100, FSlabs A320, Aerosoft A321/A319, Captainsim 757, Wilco E190/145/135, Flight1 Cessna Mustang/King Air 200, Qualitywings BAe146, PFPX etc.

To economize, update once a year is far better than never updated. My is 2 year old since I fly only occasionally, but had no issues right now.

btw Navigraph contacted me for employment in Stockholm, so I could have had it for free. But my payroll requirements was way to high for them, so I ended up in the vehicle industry.

( There is no aviation industry in my neighborhood )
