Hi all,

Can anyone help. I have installed the KBDL (FS2004) as recommended by VAT users. Great scenery. However, the problem I have is trees everywhere. I mean everywhere within the airport environment. Along taxiways, runways, etc.

Any advice???

Mitch

Hi Mitch,

you can exclude these objects. For this you need to open the file "scenery.cfg" from the main-folder of FS2004, use a plain text-editor to do this.

Look for the entry of KBDL and after the last line of that block add Exclude=.

In this exclude you now need to enter the coordinates of a rectangular area where you would like to have all objects excluded that are not part of the addon that you have installed.

It may look like this (coordinates for LHBP Budapest, Hungary)

[Area.xxx]

Title=LHBP Budapest

Local=Addon Scenery\LHBP

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

Layer=xxx

Exclude=N47 26.08,E19 15.42,N47 25.87,E19 15.77,objects

This page

explains it in more detail.

Should it not work out as desired, try this: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/226137-exclude-switch/

Thank you very much for a well detailed post. I will try this. I was hoping someone else had noticed this as well and notified Mach 1. However after searching everywhere it appears I'm the only one experiencing this. Hmmm

Thanks again,

Mitch

I don't have much experience with payware scenery, but the observation that others aren't experiencing the same issues might be related to autogen density settings.

(Not that the developer shouldn't be alerted to address it -- just giving legitimacy to the idea that not everyone who uses it will experience that problem.)

Cheers,
-R.

Hi Rob, I already keep Autogen levels fairly low so I do not believe that to be the issue. Also, this scenery is freeware.

Thx,

Mitch
