Everytime I start VRC i get the message Unable to intilize voice engine. I still still control, just obviously can't use the voice. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Michael, the most common cause for that problem is if there is some other program running that uses the same voice port as VRC. That would include just about any VATSIM client, such as ASRC, FSInn, AVC, SB3, XSB, etc.

If that's not the case, then perhaps you have a firewall or anti-virus program that's preventing VRC from opening the voice port.

Thanks Ross for the reply. I'll try unblocking the port and see how it helps. Hopefully it will, I miss controlling lol

I have a question related to this. How can I manage to have VRC and RW working at the same time if they use the same port? Many controllers do this but I can't seem to get it to work. This has been driving me nuts. If I open VRC first then I can't transmit on RW. If I open RW first, I get the Unable to Initialize Voice Engine message. I have the same problem with any combination of ASRC and VRC along with TS or RW. I've forwarded all necessary ports for my router.

Why do you want to have RW and VRC open at the same time?

To chat during the dead times.

My question is:

Will two voice programs work at the same time?

If yes, what if they are using the same port?

Two voice programs can work together if they do not use the same port. Thus, VRC and TS can work together, but VRC and RW cannot.

I can't get VRC and TS to work together. Any idea why?
