Corey Brown 902725 Posted May 22, 2006 at 11:35 PM Posted May 22, 2006 at 11:35 PM How do you know when a aircraft needs a transponder recycled on VRC
Matthew Horan 901577 Posted May 22, 2006 at 11:43 PM Posted May 22, 2006 at 11:43 PM If you get a "CODE" error, thats usually a sign Matt www.vatsim.net/prc
Ross Carlson Posted May 23, 2006 at 01:13 AM Posted May 23, 2006 at 01:13 AM Or if you see the code they are actually squawking instead of the ground speed, that means you have [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned them a code but they aren't squawking it yet. If you see CODE that means they have a duplicate code and you need to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ign them a new one and ask them to set it. Tomas Hansson Posted May 23, 2006 at 01:35 PM Posted May 23, 2006 at 01:35 PM Of course, with some types of airplanes, it can get a little confusing. Here is a transcript of a conversation I had with a pilot the other day: SEA_CTR> Sir, squawk 6600 BWAXXX> Already squawking 6600 SEA_CTR> Uh, I see a squawk code of 1050 BWAXXX> That would be my airspeed sir - I am a Concorde Tomas Hansson
Javier Larroulet Posted May 23, 2006 at 08:18 PM Posted May 23, 2006 at 08:18 PM hmmm pilot would be wrong... it is the groundspeed An easy way to double check is to radioselect the aircraft and the look at the bottom part of the Aircraft window. First line should look like: LXP265 B732/A 2431 1200 In that case, it is aquawking 1200 while the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned code is 2431 If it reads LXP265 B732/A 2431 The aircraft was [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned 2431 and is squawking accordingly cheers! Owen Catherwood 903683 Posted May 23, 2006 at 10:38 PM Posted May 23, 2006 at 10:38 PM Andreas, the GS is shown to the ones digit, so an a/c with a GS of 510KIAS will show 510 in DSR mode. KZSE C3/Facilities Administrator
