I've been doing a lot of flying in FSEconomy with VATSIM in and out of a lot of regional Australian airports and have recently started using Ortho4XP for photo scenery and it struck me how much fun, and how pretty our country is to fly around. I've been streaming a lot of the flights and getting a little interest here and there but it is always the same few planes and the occasional 737 flight.

So, I had an idea. What I came up with was a plan to circomenavigate Australia completely using a variety of GA aircraft without mod cons such as GPS. Yes, you read that correctly, I'm going full on, hardcore VFR with only maps and NavAids to guide me around this giant brown land!

The flight plan will look like this:

The rules that I have set are as follows:

No leg where possible to be more than 200NM (Central Australia is impossible to do so)

Planes will be General Aviation, propellor driven and as much as possible, freeware from the Org or as part of default X-Plane aircraft

All legs flown VFR, Autpilot for Heading, VOR tracking and Altitiude only, NO GPS Navigation

All legs on VATSIM following ATC procedures

A different plane for each leg, with no more than 3 uses of that plane in the entire 82 leg flight.

I'll be streaming every leg on twitch (I've yet to work out a schedule for that though)

What I'd like is for any suggestions of good, freeware, X-Plane 11 compatible, GA aircraft that I can use. I'll fly just about anything as long as it fits the General Aviation category. Some of the legs are only 20-40NM so I'd even have a look at some ultralights for the short legs.

My goal is to showcase Australia as a flying destination and maybe stir up some interest in GA planes which is my p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ion over the heavies.

Well, I've worked out the legs I'll fly, although I may add some in as I go

The full list is here

At this point I'll be streaming the flights on Tuesday and Thursday at 0930Z for about 1-2 hours each of those nights, and then 0000Z Saturday and Sunday for 3-4 hours or more depending on she who must be obeyed.
