We are proud to announce the launch of FSExpo (FlightSimExpo, http://www.flightsimexpo.com), a new U.S.-based flight simulation conference taking place in the summer of 2018. The event is being produced by some familiar names: Evan Reiter, Phil Coyle, Tom Guerrette, and a team of other members and volunteers from Boston Virtual ARTCC and VATSIM.

 

FSExpo is designed to be a collaborative event that is planned in conjunction with the many flight simulation developers we all know and love. Event organizers are excited to be bringing a flight simulation event to other regions in the United States, offering a broad variety of exhibitor booth options, attracting great speakers, and providing a world-cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] event for all.

 

We are in the process of developing a new website, launching Facebook and Twitter profiles, and setting up the new event. We will be in touch soon when more information is available about the date and venue.

 

This is a new event that is building the contact list fresh. As flight simulation enthusiasts, you can help by replying to this thread with any feedback, ideas, or suggestions you might have for FSExpo. The other way to help is by helping us identify potential partners to work with. Are there developers, speakers, or other flight simulation groups you would like to see at FSExpo? Please reply to this thread with the names and websites of anyone you would like us to reach out to.

As many of you know, the same team producing FSExpo are all VATSIM and BVA members. We are looking forward to supporting online aviation with a huge VATSIM and BVA presence at FSExpo this year.

 

BVA and VATSIM members have always travelled across the country (and, in some cases, international borders) to attend events like these. We are working with sponsors and exhibitors to finalize the location for FSExpo in 2018, and look forward to announcing where in the country our next big member get-together is going to take place.

Is this a new effort in addition to FlightSimCon or its replacement?

Phil, Tom, and I have gone on to form this new event, FSExpo. Since we are no longer affiliated with FlightSimCon, we do not have any information about when or if there will be another event under that name.

 

What we do know is that you can count on there being an FSExpo event in summer 2018, and that you can expect to see significant representation from the third-party flight simulator developers and online multiplayer communities.

 

If you have any suggestions about what you would and wouldn't want to see, please feel free to reply directly to this thread. Otherwise, we'll post when there's more information!

 

I know it seems a bit crazy to ask about the developers people might wish to see, but brainstorming that list is exactly what we need to do. So, seriously, any ideas outside of the big mainstream names we all know are very much appreciated. Contact information or email introductions are even better but just an initial list to Google would be great.

As many of you may know, a team of members from Boston Virtual ARTCC has launched FlightSimExpo, North America’s only community-driven flight simulation conference. With support from Orbx, X-Plane, and almost 30 other flight simulation organizations, FlightSimExpo is proud to be an event created by the flight simulation community.

 

Our team will be working closely with Matt from VATUSA to welcome ARTCCs from across the division to the event, and give interested controllers and VATUSA members the opportunity to participate in live controlling from the venue.

LAS VEGAS – December 8 – FlightSimExpo 2018, a new, community-driven flight simulation conference, will be held the weekend of June 9-10, 2018 at Flamingo Las Vegas Resort. Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip and minutes from the airport, Flamingo Las Vegas Resort has newly-renovated rooms, modern meeting space, a great rewards program, and features a Caribbean-style water park and tropical wildlife habitat.

 

FlightSimExpo 2018 will feature a variety of interactive exhibits, and a host of educational and informative seminars from professionals across the aviation and flight simulation industries. In addition, there will be social events after conference hours for networking and connecting with other simulation enthusiasts, aviation professionals, and developers from across the simulation industry.

 

The conference was formed by a group of community organizers from Boston Virtual ARTCC who have years of experience in flight simulation, aviation, and event planning. FSExpo plans to bring simulation enthusiasts, current and former aviation professionals, and anyone else who has an interest in flight simulation or aviation together to witness the advances and developments within the industry. This conference is truly community-driven: the venue, host city, and activities have all been determined by feedback from the community and developers. Early support from Orbx, X-Plane, and almost 30 others have helped turn this event into a reality.

FlightSimExpo 2018, North America’s new community-driven flight simulation conference, has officially opened attendee registration! The conference welcomes the public of all ages to join us on June 9-10, 2018 at Flamingo Las Vegas Resort.

Early bird registration is just $50 for the entire weekend. This will include full access to the tradeshow floor and the seminars taking place on both event days. However when I'm trying to sign up for the weekend and when it asks for a phone number I can't enter my number with country code. It won't allow me to use an international number, looks like the format is predefined as US or so.
