Chris Kirkman 1396980 Posted October 26, 2017 at 12:09 AM Posted October 26, 2017 at 12:09 AM There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or rhythm to it. Sometimes I can intercept the localizer without an issue; however, sometimes I can not. It simply doesn't find it. I've verified that I am absolutely 100% certain that I'm using the correct frequency. Any guesses why this happens? Does it have anything to do with picking an approach runway via RNAV vs ILS? I.e. Runway 9R vs I9R?

You may want to try to check to see if that's the case, although that may take some detective work. The following [Mod - Happy Thoughts]umes FS9 or FSX -- It's been over 10 or 15 years since I've done it, but IIRC, if you bring up the map around the airport, the localizer frequencies will be displayed. Jan Naslund Posted October 28, 2017 at 11:03 AM Posted October 28, 2017 at 11:03 AM Hi, I fly the xplane11 B737-800 and i noticed a weird thing. If i am flying a STAR using LNAV and VNAV and i am coiming up on final approach course, i have to press the VOR/LOC button first. When i do that i see the localizer and glideslope indicators pop up in the primary flight display. If i don't do this i don't see them and before i discovered this i also thought that the ILS was not working. Had a few flights where i had to abort the approach due to that i couldn't get the ILS to work. Once i am established on the localizer i press the APP-button so that the AP captures the glideslope. Not sure this is the same problem that you are experiencing as i have yet to try the MD in xplane 11 but it could be something to check out. Good luck / Jan
Chris Kirkman 1396980 Posted October 28, 2017 at 02:05 PM Author Posted October 28, 2017 at 02:05 PM Jan, I've never even tried the VOR/LOC button before! Great idea. Hopefully that'll be the solution. Thanks.
