Syntax Error 4 (I am a newbie)

I am very new to the Vatsim community i connected, well attempted to for my first time tonight and when i filled out the information and connected in said "Syntax Error 4", i am unaware on what this means i stay connected bu i am unsure if this a big error, also all the text on the text table at the top of the screen is red is this bad? or not has anybody else encountered this problem or just me, any solutions? please get back to me i look forward to playing on Vatsim .

This error comes direct from the network and indicates that you've buggered something up in your flightplan entry. (XSB doesn't validate flightplans at all - it just bundles up what you give it and gives it to the network).

 

If you want any [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance with this at all, you'll need to provide more information (such as what you're trying to enter into the flightplan, and what you set as your aircraft type during connection).

 

You may also want to read the VATSIM new pilot's guidance about flightplans as that may already cover what you're doing wrong.

Put 33000 as the cruise rather than FL330.

If you see this error when you try to connect and before you send a flight plan, then the flight plan would have nothing to do with it. Given that it appears you haven't made any connections to the VATSIM servers yet, my guess is that something in your login details is incorrect.

 

Nothing looks amiss in the information we can see in your screenshot of the Connect window. The only thing we can't see, of course, is your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word. Are you copying-and-pasting the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word from an e-mail? If so, I recommend you type it manually. To my knowledge, your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word should never contain any non-alphanumeric characters - such as a ':' (colon).
