Aharon Dayan Posted January 19, 2018 at 02:35 PM Posted January 19, 2018 at 02:35 PM Shalom and greetings all my pals, I have access to all charts for Milford Sound airport but all charts contain worded explanations and there is NO diagram chart to show the flight path or line toward runway like you usually see other airport charts. Does anybody know if there is such diagram chart existed that will show flight path with waypoints leading toward runway for Milford Sound airport? Also, on this link http://www.vatnz.net/airspace/airport/NZMF, I read warning as seen below. NOTE: there is a MAJOR bug with the NZMF in the default FSX scenery that results in an 850ft high airport-shaped plateau that shoots up from the floor of the sound. If you are using FSX you need to install this scenery update at this link http://www.skydivesingleton.net/creator2003/MilfordSoundX.zip to fix the problem. FS2004 is not afflicted with this issue. Unfortunately, the link for the scenery update does not work. Does anybody know where I can find the repair update for this airport please? Thanks, Aharon

Sean Harrison Posted January 19, 2018 at 09:01 PM Posted January 19, 2018 at 09:01 PM Sorry Aharon, I re-read your post and you are asking for approach plates. I can find any either. Maybe because it’s a dangerous place to fly into in a fixed wing. Heaps of helicopter activity too. There is an FSX scenery at FlightSim.com https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=61312309 I’ve found that I get the airport elevation issue because I have orbix payware. Once I run the elevation configuration it fixes the individual airports, so maybe whoever posted that warning had orbix. What are you going to fly there in? Aharon Dayan Posted January 20, 2018 at 12:14 AM Author Posted January 20, 2018 at 12:14 AM What are you going to fly there in? Sean, Thanks for reply. Since I do not have Orbx products, I guess it is safe for me to use Milford Sound airport for FSX use. I plan to use either DC-3 or Cessna Grand Caravan to fly into Milford Sound airport for FIRST TIME. Hope FSX default Milford Sound scenery is nice and decent!!! Or maybe 4 propeller Dash plane with STOL ability? Too bad there are no approach charts showing flight lines or paths with waypoints all the way to runway for Milford Sound! Maybe I can draw line of approach path in my FSX flight planner???? Which runway is more likely to be used? I know it depends on winds but which rwy is more widely used? Sean Harrison Posted January 20, 2018 at 01:01 AM Posted January 20, 2018 at 01:01 AM From what I can see, only blow in two directions from NNW, or SE. I guess that makes sense given the huge valley it sits in. So if landing to the West, expect up to 20 kts with a nice bumpy mountain avoiding approach. If coming down the fjord to the East, nice comfortable approach with generally 15 kts. Watch for helos. This week generally looks like local conditions prevail (maybe r11 in morning, before things heat up and then r29). Mid week looking like a strong westerly blow.
