VATSIM METAR Feed Not Working?? (vPilot not retrieving any.)

Hey guys.

 

Anyone else having issues retrieving METARs through the VATSIM network this morning?

 

Using vPilot, when I try to retrieve any metar using the .wx command, I get Network error: No such weather profile.

 

It worked yesterday. Is this a VATSIM issue or is there something wrong with my vPilot?

Hey Rob,

 

Known issue - One of the sources we pull the data from is not distributing data properly. We are monitoring the situation at present.

 

Seems it is currently affecting Canadian weather data.

This is a problem now at 14:07x 20190723 and has check airports sites across different countries, etc.

 

All meters unavailable.

Until restored, METAR information is available by Googling 'METAR XXXX'

In the 15 years since I started using VATSIM, I don't recall a weather outage that's lasted this long.

 

Can you provide any more data about the nature of the issue, above and beyond saying a weather source isn't transmitting information as expected?

The team is busy irl and as you might understand, eating is more important than some METARs which can be grabbed manually from the web meanwhile. That's all there is to it really.

From experience, VATSIM weather lags behind real world weather by several hours so getting a METAR may not be what I fly into. Maybe I should just set the sim to fair weather and fly offline until things get sorted.

Aside from the metar issue, when I log on to the network, it gives me 10-15 minutes of online time, then everything closes, including FS. When I restart FS and fly offline, I have no issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

What SIM? What client? What weather addon?

I'm not having any issues with anything shutting down; VATSpy hangs when it tries to download data from vatsim-data.hardem.net but that stops when I check "Disable downloading from vatsim-data.hardem.net" in VATSpy's error message.

Right now seems that there is no METAR available for LGAV. Is there an ongoing issue?
