VATSIM seeks Vice Presidents, Network Systems (VATGOV3), Technical Development (VATGOV5) and Web Services (VATGOV6)

 

VATSIM is a voluntary international online flight simulation network with well over 70,000 active members. We're working to make VATSIM fit for the future and consolidate our position as the number one online flight simulation network. To achieve this, three exciting vacancies on our Board of Governors are now open for applications.

 

Vice President Network Systems (VATGOV3)

Oversees all network operations and acts as liaison with server owners and operators. In addition, this Governor evaluates new requests for procurement and/or donation of server space and submits recommendations to the Board of Governors for approval or disapproval.

Vice President Technical Development (VATGOV5)

Works directly and indirectly to plan, develop, implement and maintain new and/or improved services for VATSIM. The primary focus of development by this Governor is on FSD Hosts and Pilot, Air Traffic Control and other clients.

Vice President Web Services (VATGOV6)

Responsible for the development and maintenance of the VATSIM.net website and other web-based services. This Governor is also charged with the maintenance of all historical docomeents relating to the operation and development of VATSIM including, but not limited to, Board of Governor meetings, e-mails, voting records, the Code of Regulations, Code of Conduct and User Agreement.

Application Process

Due to the critical nature of these roles, members must be good standing with VATSIM.

 

Applicants are required to nominate TWO VATSIM members in good standing on the VATSIM network who may be contacted by the panel appointments panel to provide character references. Details should be provided of the referees name, VATSIM ID and contact email address.

 

Please send your CV (which may include real-world elements but must also address your history with VATSIM including any staff positions you hold, or have previously) and covering letter (which demonstrates how and why you are the best candidate for this role, no longer than 2 sides) to [email protected] by 2359z on Thursday 15MAR18. It is anticipated that short-listed candidates will be interviewed by the Appointments Panel in late March.
