Nach dem großen Erfolg der ersten Tour von Bratislava nach Nürnberg im letzten Oktober, geht es nun weiter mit Kapitel 2:

Saarbrücken (EDDR) joins Nürnberg (EDDN)

 

Der Frühling kommt mit großen Schritten auf uns zu und so wird es allerhöchste Zeit, sämtliche Propellermaschinen aus dem

Hangar zu rollen. Von der CriCri bis zur Dash, oder von der Boeing-Stearman bis zur Pilatus PC-12 – schwingt Euch mit allem,

was mindestens einen Propeller hat, in die Luft! Die Strecke von 160nm ist landschaftlich absolut reizvoll und lässt sich an

diesem Abend, je nach Fluggerät, mehr als nur einmal absolvieren.

Saarbrücken (EDDR) ist einer von 16 internationalen Verkehrsflughäfen in Deutschland und befindet sich im Osten der Stadt.

Hier starten Linienflug- und Charterverbindungen sowie natürlich GA Flüge. Wer nach Nordosten fliegt hat die Chance, sich

bei Mettlach das wohl bekannteste Postkartenmotiv des Saarlandes aus der Luft anzusehen:

Nürnberg (EDDN) ist der internationale Flughafen der Metropolregion Nürnberg und zweitgrößter Flughafen in Bayern.

Der Flughafen rangierte nach Fluggästen im Jahr 2017 auf Platz zehn der Flughäfen Deutschlands.

Nach der Landung oder vor dem Start ist die Besichtigung der Altstadt quasi ein Muss:

Hier befindet sich unter anderem auch der berühmte Weinstadl - wie oben zu bewundern.

This tour started the last year with great success. Chapter one took place between Bratislava and Nuremberg.

Now we will continue with Chapter two:

Spring is coming and it is time to get all your lovely props out of your hangar and into the air! Wether it is the CriCri or a Dash –

a Boeing-Stearman or a PC-12: Come and join the event!

The landscape on this 160nm route is really stunning and can be flown , depending on your aircraft, a few times this evening.

 

Some facts about our destinations:

 

Saarbruecken (EDDR) is one of the 16 international airports in Germany and is located east of the city. It is starting point

for scheduled flights, charter flights and, of course, GA flights. If you have chance to leave the airport to the northeast,

try to find the small town Mettlach. Only a few kilometres from there you find the most well-known vantage point and

postcard image of the Saarland:

The horseshoe bend in the Saar, called “Saarschleife” as shown in our Banner above.

 

Nuremberg (EDDN) is the international airport of the metropolitan region of Nuremberg and the second largest airport

of Bavaria. Counting the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]enger traffic in 2017 Nuremberg is number ten among all airports in Germany.

Prior to departure or after landing, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the beautiful and eye candy old town of Nuremberg.

One highlight, shown in the banner above, is the famous “Weinstadl”.
