At 1,142 feet tall and 2,831 feet above sea level, this island mountain is made up of mostly sandstone that rises abruptly from the surrounding land. This month's challenge is to transport a research team and their equipment from Alice Springs with the DeHavilland Dash 6, as its equipped to land at any of the local on route bush air fields should a problem arise flying in the hot weather where day time temperatures can easily break the 105°F mark. The team has chosen to fly as the 180nm trip takes more than 6 hours by road.
