For this special Sunday Night Ops find a cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ical aircraft and fly it between our two largest cities. In early 1966 Auckland Airport was officially opened for commercial flights and to celebrate this try and use any historical aircraft that was in service before 1970. These could vary from military aircraft like a Spitfire to a DC-9 and even the Concorde; you may be surprised at what aircraft were around in the 1960's and before. Aircraft from this area can be a challenge to fly and will hopefully test your piloting skills to the maximum while enjoying some first cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] ATC. Sadly not all pilot will have suitable aircraft for this event, so still join in and fly the route in your favourite aircraft. Pilots and controllers alike are encouraged to post historical pilot stories and facts in this forum post in the week leading up to the event. Surprise us all with what you know! The focus for this event will be Auckland (NZAA) and Christchurch (NZCH).
