VATNZ presents a unique event you will only see once. Fly a route between Auckland (NZAA) and Wellington (NZWN) in any suitable aircraft.

 

Unlike normal events throughout the year, this time you can test yourself with an inflight emergency.

 

Suitable Emergencies:

 

• Single Engine Failure
  
• Fire / Smoke
  
• FMC / Navigation Failure
  
• Autopilot / Autothrottle Failure
  
• Airspeed Indicator Failure
  
• Flap Failure
  
• Fuel Leak
  
• Trim Failure

 

 

 

Please Remember

 

The controller can still deny your emergency situation as per Vatsim policy if the failure is deemed to conflict seriously with other traffic. Do not do fail any components that would result in a imminent crash, eg Dual Engine failure, control surface failure, complete display failure etc. These types of emergencies will most defiantly be rejected by the controller.

 

Remember to respect the controllers and pilots, your failure should only challenge the pilot and controller but not interfere with other pilots.
