It's the end of the Month, so Vatpac will spill some of the Milk Run fun somewhere else!

 

The Ghan train is one of Australia's great rail journeys. Originally travelling from Adelaide to Alice Springs through some of the most remote parts of the continent, the Ghan was so named due to the Camels (and their handlers) who were imported to Australia during the late 19th century to run the overland route between Adelaide and Darwin. These Afghani caravans were the backbone of Central Australia till the railway was finally opened to Alice Springs in 1929.

 

Today, the railway is a standard gauge line which runs all the way north to Darwin.
