Collin Koldoff Posted June 20, 2018 at 06:51 PM Posted June 20, 2018 at 06:51 PM I have noticed that when a text pilot is filed as heavy and when you give them instructions that would normally require you to put heavy after their callsign does not work. Is there any way to fix this or is it just a problem with VRC that I shouldn't worry about? -Collin Koldoff ZMA S2
Ross Carlson Posted June 20, 2018 at 07:24 PM Posted June 20, 2018 at 07:24 PM I wouldn't call this a "problem" with VRC, since the word "heavy" is not part of the callsign. It's just part of the phraseology that you are supposed to use ... nobody really does this with text pilots on VATSIM. It's extra unnecessary typing. Dhruv Kalra Posted June 24, 2018 at 02:22 PM Posted June 24, 2018 at 02:22 PM I’m with Ross on this one, and I’m normally all for phraseology accuracy. I even made a “.me” alias that spits out my current ATC Position’s radio identifier (e.g. “Minneapolis Center”) so I can properly close the loop on initial contact Dhruv Kalra VATUSA ZMP ATM | Instructor | VATSIM Network Supervisor
