Joost Veeningen 879260 Posted January 2, 2005 at 11:49 AM Posted January 2, 2005 at 11:49 AM Hi , it has come to my attention that planes of other pilots look very ugly. It seems like they are 1 or 2 pixels Only planes that I fly myself (like the 737NG) look good when other pilots fly them too. Is there anyway to make the other planes look somwhat nicer? greetz
Dave Wild Posted January 2, 2005 at 11:55 AM Posted January 2, 2005 at 11:55 AM Sounds like you don't have the CSL files installed or installed correctly. Check the docomeentation for installing SB and the CSL files.

Check the docomeentation for installing SB and the CSL files. I've been thinking about that. I installed squawkbox directly in my FS9 directory. Is that ok? Because in PRC it says that when FS2002 is not installed, you need to create FS2002 directorys, install squawkbox there and after that copy CSL dir to FS9. Marek Pola 843115 Posted January 2, 2005 at 12:34 PM Posted January 2, 2005 at 12:34 PM They are supposed to be quite ugly to get good FPS but maybe it's even worse in your situation?
Manfred Knorr 907482 Posted January 2, 2005 at 12:46 PM Posted January 2, 2005 at 12:46 PM I wouldn't complain about other planes looking ugly, at least you can see them
Dave Wild Posted January 2, 2005 at 02:29 PM Posted January 2, 2005 at 02:29 PM Joost, You would be better off installing SB to its own directory. The instructions about creating a FS2002 directory is so that the installer can create the CSL directory in FS2002 and then you copy that directory over to FS9\aircraft\ So to check that CSL files are installed correctly just check in fs9\aircraft \ that you have a 'CSL' directory and that it contains a whole load of model and texture directories, also rename 'aircraft.csl' in the CSL directory to 'aircraft.cfg'. Make sure you also read the SBRelay docomeentation and include the 'FrameCallNowarn' section in your FS9.cfg file, this prevents error notices when another plane is loaded by another player. You may still get some errors if someone uses a plane that is not in the CSL aircraft. As to the other flippant comments , yes the CSL aircraft are ugly but not to the extent of only two pixels, and Manfred, you need to check out why you cannot see other aircraft, you should be able to if everything is set up correctly. Dave Weese 817228 Posted January 3, 2005 at 01:09 AM Posted January 3, 2005 at 01:09 AM That is the way the should look. ugly ugly ugly ugly ugly ugly Remember the current CSLs came out for FS2000 back before the days of super powerfull computers. teh New VIP3 model set that comes with Sb3 will make them look better, this is because FS can not keep up with the frame rates. Want to see what I mean. Delete your CSL files and go to a busy airport all the other aircraft will display as your model and watch your FPS drop to almost zero Dave Weese (CXA007) Fleet Manager Canadian Xpress Virtual Airline® http://www.CanadianXpress.ca
Joost Veeningen 879260 Posted January 6, 2005 at 08:11 PM Author Posted January 6, 2005 at 08:11 PM I've been flying online again, and another thing that caught my attention was that allmost all the other airplanes have the same liverie! I checked they're callsign and the liverie didn't match the airline at all. Anybody heard of this before?

If you are using SBRelay, read the readme file that comes with the installations, there is a CSL section there explaining what to do.
