The summer vacation is fast approaching. Why not kick off by connecting an ever-sunny archipelago with the polar midnight sun -

in our newest groupflight event, Operation TropicNordic?

 

Transport tourists from the pearl of Indian Ocean, Seychelles Islands, to the Gate of the Scandinavian Arctic, Bodø, with diverse landscapes of Africa, the Middle East, and Europe along the way.

Event Notes and Highlights:

 

The 2 event airports are 2 relatively well-equipped airports in 2 relatively remote areas on earth. This means you can bring almost any airliner for the flight, but you can also leave your comfort zone and experience the pristine beauty of nature, while testing your piloting skills in highly different environments - by departing from an airport deep in the Indian Ocean, then approaching into an airport located on the mountainous Norwegian coast.

Special Advisory Information - Conflict Zones

This route transits certain Conflict Zones designated by ICAO and other aviation authorities.

HCSM / Somali

OYSC / Yemen

OEJD / Jeddah FIR

Pilots are encouraged to exercise caution when operating in a Conflict Zone. Based on rules put in place by certain aviation authorities, a detour avoiding off-limit airspace may be required.

Detour Avoiding Prohibited Airspace in Sanaa FIR: ZIZAN PARIM UN303 RIBOK (In accordance with FAA SFAR 115)

ENEV Narvik / Evenes

ENAN Andenes / Andøya

Both are ILS equipped with long runways, a rarity north of the arctic circle.

For inclusion in the #vatsimevents calendar please provide a start and end time for the event as we cannot publish open ended events.
