Hey,

For my planing I usually use mater and telephone atis (for the majority of the airports).

Is there a way to get live atis information (not from fr24) ?

Thanks for the help

David

You mean live from VATSIM? [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming either my sim and pilot client are not fired up yet and/or I'm looking for ATIS information at an airport I can't "see" based on my location, I usually open up VATSpy, right click on the ATIS symbol, and select the ATIS Details option. There are most likely other ways with other situational awareness tools, also.

Two options that I use in that case:

1. Use FSX atc, what I do is have the ATC volume quite low so if i'm listening to the real Vatsim ATIS then it more than overpowers the FSX ATC, however, if no VATSIM ATIS is active then I can hear it no problem.

2. and/or as above ".wx CYVR" or ".metar CYVR" will at least get you the weather and you can determine the rwy

When flying in Russia I noticed the metar also had the runway in use included. Good idea I thought, Art

Thanks for the replay.

I found out UniAtis (http://www.uniatis.net/) which upload real world Atis information for couple of airports.

also i have seen that active sky v4 gives "runways in use" information based on the weather.

UniATIS is what most european controllers use to put their ATIS up on VATSIM. What you see in "ATIS history" are the last requests controllers have made. Unfortunately, you'll only be able to see it where there is/has recently been controllers online. UniATIS itself doesn't choose the runways; the controllers send several parameters including the ATIS letter, METAR, runways, etc... when requesting it.
