CHANDAN BHAT 1239916 Posted September 18, 2018 at 08:02 PM Posted September 18, 2018 at 08:02 PM Hey there, My institute internet policy is such that I need to get through a proxy (172.31.1.3 or 172.31.1.4) with port 8080 to access the internet. However, once logged in all apps/software seems to work fine except for vPilot. It initially connects to a server, then after some 20 seconds or so, throws an error somewhere along the lines of "Disconnected from network: the network has failed authentication challenge." I have gone through some basic troubleshooting(ie. using VPN services, going through the Forums) however there seems to be no solution yet. Please help. Andrew Ogden Posted September 19, 2018 at 05:40 AM Posted September 19, 2018 at 05:40 AM Hi Chandan, When you initially connect to the network, the VATSIM pilot/ATC client goes through a security handshake with the server, determining that the client is authorised to connect to the network. If the client fails to correctly send a packet in this handshake, the client is automatically disconnected. I think that vPilot might be failing to communicate with the server through your proxy and the server is timing you out due to the lack of communication from the client end. Is it possible for you to use a different internet connection or proxy? Cheers, Hi Andrew, Thank you for your help, to address your question, no, I cannot use another connection or proxy, however if you you have any idea of the ports involved I could have it unblocked.(Most UDP and TCP ports are blocked here) Regards, Chandan
