Mats Edvin Aaro Posted September 26, 2018 at 07:28 AM Posted September 26, 2018 at 07:28 AM I would like some Insight to how Euroscope fetches and updates the METAR to the Controller. Time and time again I experience having a different update interval for METAR than other ajecent controllers. It seems that Euroscope (or uniATIS) fetches the METAR on an interval based on when the METAR was connected or the controller connected, as opposed to having it on a synchonous interval (e.g. on the hour and half past). Is this a problem With Euroscope or uniatis? It is quite a problem when controllers give different QNH settings and wind reports, because they logged on at different times. Does anyone have any takes on this? Magnus Meese Posted September 26, 2018 at 06:03 PM Posted September 26, 2018 at 06:03 PM VATSIM servers should be pushing the METAR, not uniATIS, afaik.
Oliver Gruetzmann Posted September 27, 2018 at 09:04 AM Posted September 27, 2018 at 09:04 AM Servers pushing the METAR would be amazing. Right now it's the clients polling in intervals (20 minutes for euroscope IIRC)
