Got my slot early, then the bookings button disappeared and the dashboard didn't work, but it turns out the booking did go through!

Departure Time

11:31:00Z

Departure

Washington Dulles International Airport (KIAD/IAD)

Arrival

Manchester International Airport (EGCC/MAN)

I would've liked to see the bookings without releasing mine, so I could see them go, or watch for other bookings that I might want, but overall the new website is pretty good!

Congrats on the new CPT site Team. Very well done!

VAT978 (formally FDX978) got the first slot out of Boston (KBOS) @ 11:11z outbound Manchester (EGCC) -- here's to pushing TFDi's B717-200 to the extremes w/ 2 pilots and 30 lbs of overnight luggage.

With favorable tailwinds, we should make the 2,700+ nm hop "Cross The Pond"

Until event day - thanks and stay safe ladies/gents!

Has any consideration been given to using a ballot for bookings? It seems like that would be more fair for those that have technical issues or aren't able to be at the computer when bookings open.

How do you make a correct flightplan for that day without a book?

They normally post a NAT track for people who don’t have a booking. Use that one.

500 error for 20 minutes, gave up..the only thing worse...radio congestion on NAT tracks.

I managed to get a slot, but the whole SSO debacle really should be sorted for the next one.

I hope that oceanic will either accept (Hoppie) ACARS or text. Voice position reports don't work for the volume of pilots, especially since at least 50% have no clue what they're doing. Last time I flew CTP I got my first POSREP in pretty much as I was leaving the NATs.

Last time I brought it up I was told that voice is more realistic and delays are normal. As far as I know, most NAT flights now use CPDLC/ACARS to do position reports, with voice being used by mainly business jets and older aircraft. Maybe it would be an idea to use private messages for POSREPs (lets controllers keep track on a per-plane basis in their scope) and/or Hoppie. The people who really want to do voice should be allowed to do so, but the congestion and inexperience really dampens the experience.

Hey all!

SimMarket has just started a pre-CTP sale. If you are missing any CTP airports, most of them are now on sale!

Hello,

I signed up yesterday (10/20) just after 1700Z for a slot from KBOS to EGCC departing 12:30 Z with callsign CPA29D. The website then showed a confirmation dialog.

Now I look on my dashboard and it says "no bookings" for me. Is this an error on VATSIM's part, on my part, or some other explanation?

I sure hope my booking is out there somewhere! Thanks,

Shaun Huband

Hi All,

I have a booking confirmed on the CTP Website - BOS - ZRH at 1255z.

But I haven't received any confirmation by email.

I have checked My Junk and Spam folders.

Should I be concerned?

Cheers,

Daniel

I haven't received any confirmation by email.

Technically there is no booking confirmation email.

Should I be concerned?

Nope, as long as the website show you have a booking, that's all.

I believe, last year, certain controllers did text reports but not all of them did. It would be EPIC if oceanic would support Hoppie ACARS!!!

Still looking forward to Saturday despite the few issues
