Martin Tait 908838 Posted June 29, 2006 at 08:34 PM Posted June 29, 2006 at 08:34 PM I was just having a look at the X-Plane global scenery and boy does it look GREAT! http://www.global-scenery.org/ For those of you that have X-Plane: How good is the default mesh/scenery? How good is the default aircraft? Can you get add-ons? This add-on mesh/scenery, how much does that effect frame rates? Any other general X-Plane info and stuff would be appriciated. Peter Larsen 885332 Posted June 29, 2006 at 08:40 PM Posted June 29, 2006 at 08:40 PM I do not have Global Scenery . But the aircraft are much realistic than MSFS, i've found that it feels like all Aircrafts flies the same on MSFS and Unrealistic. But on XPlane when you get from one A/C to another you ahve to learn the new Aircraft cause no two Aircrafts fly the same, a C172 and 182 are two different Aircrafts. I like the Scenery and Textures much better than in MSFS, MSFS have such a primitive way of rendering Scenery and Mesh as it can't render complex edges such as on mountains and X-Plane uses a higher resolution of mesh textures. Only downside to X-Plane is that it's very hard to fly VFR , let's hope that get's changed soon.
Martin Tait 908838 Posted June 29, 2006 at 08:42 PM Author Posted June 29, 2006 at 08:42 PM could you post some screenshots of the UK with X-Plane please? Also, what aircraft do you get default? British Airways | B737 | EGLL
Peter Larsen 885332 Posted June 29, 2006 at 11:26 PM Posted June 29, 2006 at 11:26 PM I will get some screenies of UK when it's dawn . Meanwhile here are some screenies of South Bend in America with default no Global scenery and the Autogen is only on medium if it were on full you would have equal on what you see on screenies (notice this is only on medium and with low resolution .). Taken with the Jet ranger and i've included a cockpit shot so you can see how real the cockpit looks: Robinson R22. Jet Ranger Cockpit.
