Simon Grimmett 1368719 Posted November 17, 2018 at 01:03 AM Posted November 17, 2018 at 01:03 AM I have a new livery for the B737 which is in my company colours. Flying on VATSIM when filing a flight plan I have to use the ICAO prefix, but my question is, what happens if this is a charter and I do not have a ICAO identifier. How can I fly under a charter callsign of my choosing?
Kenneth Haught Posted November 17, 2018 at 01:54 AM Posted November 17, 2018 at 01:54 AM I would suggest a read of the Pilot Resource Center, which has information on choosing a callsign. https://www.vatsim.net/pilot-resource-centre/general-lessons/choosing-callsign Essentially, you can fly it under whatever callsign you want, typically a private charter or off-schedule flight will use the registration number in the US. Robert Shearman Jr Posted November 17, 2018 at 02:23 AM Posted November 17, 2018 at 02:23 AM In addition, the livery you see yourself as may or may not be anything like the livery that other pilots see you as. Their own pilot client decides how to represent you based on your aircraft type and callsign. Don't worry too much about how others see you; just make sure you enter accurate data for yourself when you connect. Cheers, -R.
