Dear pilots,

VATRUS Division, Moscow virtual Air Traffic Control Center and VATSIM Scandinavia are happy to invite you into event between Helsinki and Moscow airport Sheremetyevo. Sheremetyevo is the biggest and busiest airport of Russia, it is base for Aeroflot Russian Airlines and it serves Finnish national carrier Finnair.

January 27th, from 13 until 17 UTC you could fly between Helsinki and Moscow, you can choose one leg or fly both legs under full ATC by Russian and Finnish controllers.

A little bit about flight rules.

Helsinki Vantaa flight rules you can find here.

During arrival at Sheremetyevo, expect RNAV STARs …1B or …1C (in case of heavy traffic). Try to maintain all altitude and speed constrains and restrictions, expect be directed to one of the fixes. All these STARs end over IAF BALRA. For correct proceeding after IAF, you should choose on you FMC this IAF on the right section TRANS (Boeing) or in VIAS section (Airbus). If you will not do it, you will cut the route for 25-30 km and may collide with traffic before you.

Remember that in Russia we still use QFE and meters below Transition Level (except Saint-Petersburg Pulkovo ULLI). Do not confuse QFE and QNH. If you fly by QNH, you should maintain cleared height+airport elevation (for example 900m by QFE=3000ft+600ft=3600ft by QNH). Use Alt/Height Conversion Table.

Runway 06L/24R is under construction and should not be in use. Active runways are 06R/24L and 06C/24C (center).

Some month ago, taxiways on the southern apron at Sheremetyevo had been renamed. Today, unfortunately, we have not actual scenery and use the latest version of scenery from Drzewiecki Design. During taxi use actual charts!

Charts and sceneries:

Helsinki | Vantaa | EFHK

Moscow | Sheremetyevo | UUEE

Recommended routes:

EFHK-UUEE | ARVEP L24 RATMU T73 INLOG N742 SPB T576 NAMIN

UUEE-EFHK | AR DCT BELAG R369 AJ B239 DB B160 NUKOL T561 OKULO B929 ATLUM T561 LEDUN N872 ROPAM

(pay attention in Sheremetyevo there are no departures via OBELU)

See you in Russian and Scandinavian Sky!
