Benjamin Rodriguez Posted March 22, 2019 at 02:11 PM Posted March 22, 2019 at 02:11 PM Hi, As you know, on March 10, 2019, we learned about the new standard 2.3.1.1.11 and 2.4.1.11. 2.3.1.1.11- Civilian VA Partners are required to conduct a minimum of one online event each calendar quarter 2.4.1.11- SOA organizations are required to conduct a minimum of one online exercise annually What opinion do you have about it? Personally, It does not seem to me at all correct to oblige to hold 1 event every quarter of the year. If I see enough reason to oblige to do 1 a year as the norm 2.4.1.11, but not 4 a year. My VA, has been certified very recently in VATSIM, and there was not this requirement, because if so, it would be certified. We are more than 500 pilots, a not insignificant number, and we are currently promoting the use of VATSIM. So I do not see correct change of the rules and force to perform 4 events. However, we are going to hold an event next month, but I am sure that we will NOT do 1 per quarter, so surely we will withdraw the certification for the last quarter of the year if they do not rectify this new rule. That's why I would like to know your opinion. Thank you. CEO X-Plane Español http://equisplanespain.com
Cor de Bruin Posted March 24, 2019 at 08:47 PM Posted March 24, 2019 at 08:47 PM Hi Benjamin, We are going to discus this rule in the next staff meeting and I think we will withdraw the certification. We believe in freedom and in the 15 years that the VA exists we always are doing our own thing and no network is going to change that. It would be something else if the network was your employer and paid you. It is too bad this is been made but you can still fly on VATSIM if your VA is certified or not.
