The only other thing to keep in mind is that once a controller has changed your flight strip, it's locked to changes by the pilot. You won't get any kind of error message -- it will look like it went through just fine. But the controller won't see any changes you've made. The work around to this - and this usually works - is by disconnecting, reconnecting, and refiling. I would not use this if you need to change something like a cruising altitude, since that's a pretty simple fix and you wouldn't want to override anything changed by a controller.
