hey, i'm connected to the vatsim server. but everytime i try to communicate using voice with the tower at lax, it tells me that there was a mic transmission error with the mic. the calibration is fine, and active atc is showing up in the sb3 window, but i can't talk to anyone. any help would be great. thanks

Are you tuned to the correct frequency?

To double check - you should see the bar at the top of the SB3 window say "Connected to nnn.nnn Voice & Text" or similar

Have you gotten a response when you typed on frequency?

Hello Colin,

Does this only happen at KLAX , or at other airports also? Which server are you connecting to ? Have you set up SB3 correctly?

The more information you are able to give us , the better we are able to help you .

1. Are you sure you hold the PTT PushToTalk key (default Scroll-lock at SB3) while speaking.

2. After connect SB3 to Vatsim, you should see following window:

sb.jpg

Green led ON show correct tuned freq.

Green led Rx show you receive voice.

Green led Tx show you transmit voice.

Tx should be active while you hold down PTT-key, else something is wrong in your SB3 installation/setup to activate the mic.

If Tx is active and still no ATC cant hear your voice, then the mic sound is bad or not good calibrated or the mic is not enabled in Windows audio-properties (then go back to SB3 setup and check the mic).
