STUART HYETT 818300 Posted April 20, 2019 at 03:13 PM Posted April 20, 2019 at 03:13 PM I'm interested in using Swift on Vatsim, but so far I can't get past this error: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x3ebcsvps3coo1a/screenshot.208.jpg?dl=0 I have created a Model Set using X-CSL package and the previous screen appears to be validated; https://www.dropbox.com/s/xplhunu0blj599r/screenshot.207.jpg?dl=0 Can't see what is wrong? I even tried with an actual airline BAW, for which I know CSLs exist but same thing occured. The X-CSL package definitely contains models for both BAW and UKV. It seems like Swift has been over engineered compared with the XSquawkbox and xiVap clients. Could someone please advise, as Swift does have some very nice features. On another matter, when using XP11 the Swift GUI disappears when using XP, so how does one get alerted to ATC and private messages when they contact you by text, does it automatically pop-up? Andreas Fuchs Posted April 20, 2019 at 07:53 PM Posted April 20, 2019 at 07:53 PM Hi Stuart, I don't think that swift has been over-engineered. Yes, it is more complex than XSquawkbox, but for that it offers more things by default. I suggest you start over with your configuration. Start the SwiftLauncher App. Then select the Config Wizzard. Go through all the steps until you reach the page titled (on top) "Simulator Simulator(s) you are using". Just make sure here that you have selected the correct path where X-Plane is installed (I am sure you have done this already, I just want to make sure we get everything right). Now, there's one important condition: any CSL-package needs to be installed somewhere within the X-Plane directory. Make sure you X-CSL is installed inside X-Plane. I also highly suggest you download and install the BlueBell model set (lovely models!) INCLUDING the "vertical offsets": https://dev.swift-project.org/w/help/installation/downloadbluebell/ Ok, when you are done on this page, go to NEXT, called "First model set". On the section called "Models" select "Reload" on the second line called "Models". When it is done, just close that popup window. Now select "Create" in the next line. When it is, you need to select "Save to X-Plane" in that popup window, this is essential for it to work! When you are done with it, close the popup and continue with NEXT on the bottom and e.g. configure your Hotkeys. About text-notification, yes, they exist. You just need to configure swift to do this for you: https://dev.swift-project.org/w/help/spc/textmsg/ Let us know how it went. I highly suggest you pop in to our Discord channel, you'll likely get instant help, maybe even in a one-on-one voice-chat: https://dev.swift-project.org/w/help/installation/downloadbluebell/ We are glad to help! As you can see, many topics are covered in our help-system, so it's always worth having a quick look there, you might find your answer(s) there. Andreas Fuchs Posted April 21, 2019 at 04:10 PM Posted April 21, 2019 at 04:10 PM Correct simulator path is installed and setX-CSL is installed within a subfolder within the XP folder and set correctly. I prefer to use X-CLS rather than BB, as it contains models and liveries for UKV You can actually use both at the same time. If UKV is available in X-CSL only, swift will use that of course, because it will try to match airline+type. That's the whole purpose of our model-mapping exercise. I do have both model-sets installed in parallel and no issues at all. I had done all the things suggested, but still receive the "Missing model string" error message. What does this actually refer too and in what circomestance does it occur?I need to ask for advice, because I never had this issue. Have you modified a model, a mapping? Roland Rossgotterer 104726 Posted April 21, 2019 at 04:17 PM Posted April 21, 2019 at 04:17 PM From the screenshots above, what you are trying to do is create a mapping for your user aircraft. This is not strictly necessary to fly and can be ignored for now. Can you post a screenshot of your connect screen? I just want to be sure that there is a model string listed which points to a healthy simulator connection (the border can be yellow or green). If the border is red and says no model string, than you aren't connected yet. swift - Technical Manager http://swift-project.org/

Andreas Fuchs Posted June 7, 2019 at 09:49 AM Posted June 7, 2019 at 09:49 AM Hi Jeka, I understand you are lacking a model set. And then you tried to add a new model and airline. Correct? And: what SIM are you using? X-Plane? Jeka Korzun 1402015 Posted June 10, 2019 at 10:21 AM Posted June 10, 2019 at 10:21 AM Hi, so on X plane, the client does not see the simulator, I thought of the problem in the model. But no model is suitable ((
