Matthew Treptau 957518 Posted July 26, 2006 at 01:41 PM Posted July 26, 2006 at 01:41 PM How is this done? I just bought a new graphics card, GeForce MX4000 128MB, PCI, and I was hoping it would help. Unfortunately it didn't seem to make a differance over the integrated graphics I had (at least as far as jaggies go, it helpes FS run much smoother and with better frames). So my question is, is there something that I can do in my graphics card settings or in FS to help them go away, or is my graphics card just too small for that? I do have anti-aliasing turned of in FS Here's a screenshot of what it looks like with the new card, Any help appreciated! Thanks, Matt
Ross Carlson Posted July 26, 2006 at 01:55 PM Posted July 26, 2006 at 01:55 PM You need to turn on anti-aliasing within your video card settings. The setting within MSFS rarely has any effect. It's the setting in your video card settings that really matters. Each video card is different, but you can usually find the anti-aliasing setting by right-clicking the desktop, choose Properties, then choose the Settings tab. You may have to click the Advanced button from there. Matthew Treptau 957518 Posted July 26, 2006 at 02:36 PM Author Posted July 26, 2006 at 02:36 PM Okay. I found the option to change the anti-aliasing setting and it was on "off", but the other options are 2x, 2xQ, 4x, and 4xS. Which one of these should I choose? Ross Carlson Posted July 26, 2006 at 03:12 PM Posted July 26, 2006 at 03:12 PM The higher the number, the smoother the edges look, but the more CPU resources are needed. You should experiment and see what gives you the best trade-off between appearance and frame rate performance. Matthew Treptau 957518 Posted July 26, 2006 at 04:02 PM Author Posted July 26, 2006 at 04:02 PM Actually it turns out I do have another question. I keep having problems with the integrated graphics automatically reinstalling the drivers after I remove them. I should disable these graphics correct? When I go into the BIOS and to the section that says video controller (or something like that) the two options are AUTO and ONBOARD when I went in there it was already on AUTO so I changed it to ONBOARD, but that didn't seem to do it either. And now I'm confusing myself lol.
