HI,

I am new to Vat sim and feel like I am starting to get the hang of it.

One question I have is the ATC always cuts in and out, I have seen post that says I need to forward the UDP ports which I have done but hasnt made a difference.

I have ordered a new router to see if that changes anything, just looking for a bit of advice if possible on something that I could try.

Thanks in advance

Matt

The port forwarding issue is more about when your connection to the voice server gets blocked suddenly and just stops working altogether, until you hit your push to talk button.

This sounds like something else entirely, but, it's not clear what the symptom is. The subject line says the voice "fades" in and out but your post says it "cuts" in and out. Can you be more specific about what exactly you're experiencing? Does it fade or cut in and out over time, or during a single transmission, or what?

Cheers,
-R.

Hi Rob,

Hope you are well.

Of course, this happens on most transmissions, when the ATC is talking to myself or even if I am listening to other pilots talk to ATC their voice cuts out and then they just come back, so I miss part of the instructions, I have tried having my headphones on Direct sound and also Wave , also tried just having the sound come through my speakers but this doesnt make a difference.

For instance

Manchester Delivery: TOM2627 Manchester Delivery good afternoon cleared to ________________________________________________ Departing runway 24

Hope this makes sense lol

Thanks

Matt
