Default weather engine for XP11 on VATSIM?

Hello gentleman,

after a few years of retreat from VATSIM and flightsimulations, I have started to set-up my PC for a return since few days.

Since I am new to X-Plane 11, I want to know if the built-in weather engine is sufficient for flights on VATSIM. I have heard that the default weather gets its data directly from NOAA. In my opinion, weather inside X-Plane should be pretty accurate, doesn't it?

But what is the common sense of using the built-in option for typical IFR flights on VATSIM?

Do you also have any recommendations for freeware or payware options?

Thanks for your time and help.

Edit:

By the way, I use the new SWIFT pilot client to connect to VATSIM

Hallo Kim,

I would say that the built-in real-time weather of XP11 is sufficient. Just try it out. I am using a payware tool called "FSGRW", but it has some imperfections and I yet have to convince the publisher to make some slight changes.
