Calling all bush pilots!

The Edmonton FIR, a member of VATCAN, is pleased to announce the first ever Midnight Sun Fly-In on the network, taking place on Friday July 12th. For those of you who don't know, Midnight Sun is a biannual event hosted by the Midnight Sun Fly-In [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociation. It takes place on the north shore of Great Slave Lake near Yellowknife, the capital of Canada's North-West Territories. Known for it's world-cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] fishing and hiking, Great Slave Lake is the tenth-largest in the world, and at over 610 metres (2000 ft) the deepest lake in North America.

Don't have a seaplane? No problem. The Yellowknife Airport (CYZF) will be locally staffed during our event period from 2200-0100z, as well as Edmonton Centre - servicing countless other fields including Calgary and Edmonton. Charts and VFR sectionals for the event are available at fltplan.com with a free membership.

Hope to you all there! Can't wait eh?
