Steve Bootes Posted July 22, 2019 at 09:32 AM Posted July 22, 2019 at 09:32 AM I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting this, but it seems I can't post in the VA Partners section. I'm the Fly-In Administrator for alliance-airways.net and am now responsible the for the VATSIM VA Partner audits. One of the recent requirements is for us to organise quarterly VATSIM Events. I'm looking for help in how best to find and contact the correct people within each VATSIM region that I should be speaking to about these events. I've obviously gone to the websites for the region I'm interested in, but the best I can usually come up with is a name and a VATSIM ID for someone who may (or may not) be responsible for events in their region. I don't seem to have the ability to PM these people directly from within the forums here, so I'm not really sure how I can get in touch with them. Can someone offer some advice of how to get in touch with the right people that can help me organise these events? Igor Martins Prell Posted July 22, 2019 at 01:38 PM Posted July 22, 2019 at 01:38 PM You would have to search the sites of the divisions and talk to the directors, I think this is the best way, but it is not necessary to inform a division or ask that your VA can make an event, simply join your staff and a day and time and make your event happen. Steve Bootes Posted July 22, 2019 at 02:00 PM Author Posted July 22, 2019 at 02:00 PM You would have to search the sites of the divisions and talk to the directors. That's really my problem Igor - I can find the names and IDs of the people I need to speak to but how am I supposed to contact them? I don't have email addresses and I don't seem to be able to send them PMs on here. How should I contact them? I'd like to contact them to arrange ATC coverage (if possible), otherwise it's a boring flight if no controllers are online.
Igor Martins Prell Posted July 22, 2019 at 05:21 PM Posted July 22, 2019 at 05:21 PM on the website of the division must have the email of the director, if you do not send an email to the regional director, requesting help, their name and email you find here -> https://www.vatsim.net/vatsim-regions Igor Prell VASOPS | Vatsim.net | Director of Virtual Airline Relations http://vasops.vatsim.net Vatsim Network Supervisor
Steve Bootes Posted July 22, 2019 at 06:04 PM Author Posted July 22, 2019 at 06:04 PM Great, thanks. And since you're here and the best person to ask: Do our VA Partner quarterly VASOPS events have to be just ours - can we jump on the back of someone else's event because we know there will be ATC coverage at that time? (I can't see the point of holding an event with no ATC coverage since we may as well all fly offline)
