Dan Bishop-Adams Posted August 4, 2006 at 03:35 PM Posted August 4, 2006 at 03:35 PM Hi All, Ive made announcements in the Southwest RTS section of the VATSIM-UK Forum, but I better let everyone else know globally aswell! From 31st August 2006, the airspace surrounding Bristol and Cardiff will change; the current CTA's will be enlarged, with additional CTA's introduced joining airways L9 and N864. The airspace will be Cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] D. Aswell as the CTA's; SIDs and STARs will be introduced for Bristol & Cardiff, and transition altitudes for Bristol, Cardiff & Filton will change to 6000ft. Also new VRP's will be introduced. The SIDs are pretty basic, and can be flown even without having the latest navdata (except one of the Cardiff SIDs via ERNOK, as ERNOK was introduced on 16 MAR 06). Some of the STARs will require data from 16th March, but some can be flown with old data. So remember to update your AIRAC cycles from navdata.at on 31st August! All the information on the changes, including SID & STAR charts, CTA Charts, etc, are available from www.ais.org.uk under AIP Amendments and 28 Day AIRAC. More info also available in the Southwest RTS section of the VATUK forum (www.vatsim-uk.org/forum).
