Vivek Vilay 967722 Posted August 6, 2006 at 10:23 AM Posted August 6, 2006 at 10:23 AM Hello, I have a problem with ATC communications where when I need to change frequency in the in the radiostack. The problem is that I remain on my current ATC frequency and have no way of communicating to the ATC controller of the region im in. For example if I was under ATC control of Schipol and was on the controller's frequency talking to them while flying to the UK the minute I enter LON_CTR Airspace I need to chane to LON's Frequency. Visually the frequency has been changed in the radiostack but I am still tuned in with schipol and cannot commence voice with LON, the only means of communication is through private message. Can someone help with this problem
Norman Blackburn Posted August 6, 2006 at 10:30 AM Posted August 6, 2006 at 10:30 AM Is this with every aircraft? SB3 or FSInn (or other?) Norman
Reed Westermeyer 975262 Posted August 6, 2006 at 10:57 AM Posted August 6, 2006 at 10:57 AM I'm not sure if this helps you, but on my usual aircraft I am only able to tune the inactive comm. After I have tuned it I then switch active ones and the correct one is active. I'm not sure if this helps you.
Craig Moulton Posted August 6, 2006 at 05:11 PM Posted August 6, 2006 at 05:11 PM As a last ditch effort, you can use .com1 123.45 or .com2 123.45 to set com1 and com2 via the SB3 chat line (don't know if that works with FSINN). If you wish to switch from using com1 to com2, you can do that by typing .com 2 or to go back .com 1 . You can also monitor both com1 and com2 by typing .com both (this acts as a toggle, 1st time will enable both, the sendond time will revert back to monitoring only one com radio, whichever was active at the time). Now, as to your specific problem, it sounds like the radio section of your aircraft.cfg file doesn't match your panel. Open your aircraft.cfg for the aircraft that is the problem and post it here, for further help. Please specify if your radio's have an active and stby freq, or just an active frequency. You can find the radio section in your cfg file by looking for [radios]. If it is missing, that could be the problem too. Fly Safe! Have Fun! Vivek Vilay 967722 Posted August 7, 2006 at 06:56 PM Author Posted August 7, 2006 at 06:56 PM To what I have heard now it sounds as if there is a problem with my [Radio] section of my aircraft configs. The problem exists with all aircraft whether I am using the default flight sim panel or a custom one. I am pasting the Radio section within the iFDG A320-232 BMI British Midland. [Radios] // Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope Audio.1=1 Com.1=1, 1 Com.2=1, 1 Nav.1=1, 1, 1 Nav.2=1, 1, 0 Adf.1=1 Transponder.1=1 Marker.1=1 Oh yeh Im running FSInn with AVC on FS9 Hope this helps

Lennart Vedin Posted August 12, 2006 at 07:48 PM Posted August 12, 2006 at 07:48 PM 1. It can be some FS-setting issue. Close FS, rename FS9.cfg ("C:\Docomeents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\FS9.CFG"). When FS restart the file will be default recreated. If the problem not dissappear you may put back your old FS9.cfg Else 2. Uninstall SB3 and FS , remove all files for FS ("C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9" and "C:\Docomeents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9") , then reboot and reinstall FS default (i.e. no addon) install SB3. p.s. If you have room at harddisk, first save copies of all FS files. I can tell it is not antivirus/firewall -issue, cause radio is set via FCUIPC.dll memory-map, no TCP/IP are used. However if other things work (transponder on/off from aircraft, you appeare correct position at VATSIM) than it prove FSUIPC works correct. While only Multiplayer aircraft (appearancy) does not go visa FSUIPC but via TCP/IP. EDIT: ok i see you use FSInn, FSInn don't use FSUIPC. FSInn use via "Copilot"-software to interface radio setting to AVC. I not know the possible issue. But try default FS9.cfg make sence if it is a FS issue. / Lennart Vedin /
