Arkadiusz Pawlik 1441284 Posted October 15, 2019 at 03:57 AM Posted October 15, 2019 at 03:57 AM Whenever I try to join a frequency it says that I have a Voice Room 2 Failed error. I am using xsquawkbox and the standalone audio client. Any one know who to fix this issue?
Board of Governors Simon Kelsey Posted October 15, 2019 at 06:10 AM Board of Governors Posted October 15, 2019 at 06:10 AM TLDR: this is normal with XSB and other clients which do not have AFV integrated, you can safely ignore it. What is happening is that because ATC clients do not yet have AFV integration they are still advertising 'old style' voice rooms. Controllers have been instructed to turn their old voice server details to gibberish to prevent you being connected simultaneously to old voice and new voice (in the cases where we haven't been able to get an old voice server shut down). In any event XSB will see an old style voice room advertised for a freq, try to join it and fail. Hence the message. You don't need to worry about it (in fact it's a good thing) because the AFV standalone is handling voice for you.
