Jim Rosado 896019 Posted October 16, 2019 at 02:12 AM Posted October 16, 2019 at 02:12 AM (edited) I'll try to keep this brief; I never post, so don't shoot me. Just move or delete the post. Just tryin' to help. W7, XP10, Stand-Alone Client for XSB. Per normal, I started XP10, started the AFV stand-alone client, and nothing heard. Since I had nothing but time, I started working with the B777 Worldliner's "VHF L", "VHF C" and "VHF R" buttons on each of the three radio set panels just aft of the throttles between the two seats. I already had two valid ATC freqs set in but could hear nothing. As I worked my way thru all three radio set panels, I intelligently [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned them (a different "VHF X" to each one). Then either that fixed the issue, or time p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ed fixed the issue (not sure yet which). Keep in mind that I normally use only "VHF L" on all three radios and never tinker with them. If it is a time issue, then from now on, I will just do my preflight and by the time I'm ready to call for clnc, maybe the AFV will start up after the 10 minutes it takes to set all switches and program the FMC. If it is a "cycle thru the three different settings on the three radios" issue, at least I know to do that from now on. I will say this: each of the "VHF L", "VHF C" and "VHF R" buttons had a different set of two freqs on them. Again, I never use them normally except for "VHF L", so that in my mind was part of the issue with AFV not working. I ended up putting the same two freqs on all three of those "VHF" presets and then leaving all three of them on "VHF L", which is what I will try to do from now on when starting the preflight. I did not have to tinker with them during flight I made right after this, but that is something I'll now keep in the back of my mind going forward. Hope this might be helpful to someone, if nothing more than to cause someone to "tinker with" the radio set buttons that they might not normally ever touch in the sim. One thing I did notice. I tried to watch the freqs listed in the AFV stand-alone client during my flight. It lists 4 freqs (two for COM1 and two for COM2). I am still not crystal-clear on how that display works. It seemed to allow me to change only the COM1 freqs. I have not yet found any docomeentation that explains how that display works. Neither have I located any B777 Worldliner docomeentation on how to change B777 radios from COM1 to COM2. So part of this issue might be a COM1 versus COM2 issue of some sort.
