Brett Cummings Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:06 AM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:06 AM I'm having issues setting and using push to talks. I first installed 1.6.3 and used it with Euroscope 3.1d yesterday, wanting to set my PTT to right control, but the program wouldn't let me. Closed AFV and re-opened as an administrator, and was able to set it. Subsequently installed the update to 1.6.32 today, followed the same method as I did yesterday, but I was unable to hear or transmit over the voice channel (EDIT: Disregard not being able to transmit, the voice servers were having issues), which got me digging a bit deeper. I played around with the PTT, and found that weirdly there was times when I could set right control as the PTT and times where I couldn't. Ended up trying a bunch of different keys (Left shift, caps lock, random letters and numbers) and sometimes it would allow whatever I selected and sometimes I wouldn't. Right now, I'm trying to set right control, but it's not working. Right shift worked. If I clear that [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment, and try right control or shift again, neither of them work. Left shift works, and I can seem to be able to remove and reset it to left shift. Then I tried left control, that worked, left shift again, that worked. Then I tried left control, and it didn't register a key entry. Tried left shift again, won't work. Could this be something else interfering with AFV? I've tried closing most if not all of any other programs (vatspy, firefox etc.) to see if it makes a difference but nothing seems to work.
Robert Shearman Jr Posted October 16, 2019 at 02:19 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 02:19 PM There is code which ignores a cleared PTT [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment in case it is from a joystick or hardware switch which registers as always pressed, interfering with the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment of the desired button. But I don't think that code works completely as intended. Try closing the client completely and re-opening it, then re[Mod - Happy Thoughts]igning the desired key. Cheers, -R.
