Michael Pike Posted August 12, 2006 at 09:50 PM Posted August 12, 2006 at 09:50 PM I start ACSim and connect to the sweatbox server to start a blip driving session for my student. To communicate with the student and play the part of various pilots, I have to run ASRC or VRC and connect to sweatbox, right? When I do this I get the standard MOTD message directing me to the rules listed at www.vatsim.net/docs.html including the well known rule about multiple connections! I'd like to see some sort of waiver added to allow blip drivers to connect twice with impunity, otherwise how can I communicate with the student? This would apply only to the sweatbox server of course! Mike Mike Pike VATSIM-UK
Ross Carlson Posted August 12, 2006 at 10:21 PM Posted August 12, 2006 at 10:21 PM You can connect as many connections as you like to the sweatbox server. When developing VRC, I regularly have two or three VRC connections, plus many ACSim connections, all at once. Michael Pike Posted August 22, 2006 at 11:59 PM Author Posted August 22, 2006 at 11:59 PM OK well in practical terms that's fine I suppose but when I connect, I am presented with exactly the same announcement of the rules I'm committed to as when I connect to any other VATSIM server. The point is, the rules apply to "connecting to VATSIM.net" So if I am not connecting to VATSIM.net I think this should be made clear in the MOTD that's all.
