Terry Stilling Posted October 18, 2019 at 08:46 PM Posted October 18, 2019 at 08:46 PM HI, I was gone during the change over to the new AFV rollout, but was kept informed about needed changes. I started Vpilot, upgraded to 2.4.0 and set my mic. I do use Vpilot in host and remote mode, so I did upgrade to 2.4.0 on both computers and updated .net 4.7.2. on both computers I can connect to vatsim and I see the other aircraft as normal. but as I connect I get an error stating unable to connect to voice server, forbidden. As such I can not get voice, I can receive text and sent text but no audio. I have searched the forums only to find the same question but no answers. Please help. Terry Stilling Posted October 18, 2019 at 09:32 PM Author Posted October 18, 2019 at 09:32 PM Thank you for the reply.. I did see that post, so since you pointed me to that post are you saying I need to wait 24 hours before I can get back onto the system. I did not change my p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word or profile and have never left the VATSIM.. Just wondering I did recheck that my p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word is the same that I have been using so the only change is upgrading to Vpilot 2.4.0 I did up date vpilot 3 hours ago does it need to be longer??? Board of Governors Simon Kelsey Posted October 18, 2019 at 09:54 PM Board of Governors Posted October 18, 2019 at 09:54 PM Hi Terry, If you have an alphanumeric p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word, make sure you have entered it in the correct case. FSD (the 'multiplayer' bit that does text comms and aircraft position updates etc) is not case sensitive but the audio server is. Terry Stilling Posted October 19, 2019 at 03:11 PM Author Posted October 19, 2019 at 03:11 PM I'm posting this because I figured out what happened on the not connecting to the voice server issue with vpilot. It seems that when I started vpilot before the update I was prompted to download the update 2.4.0 and .net upgrade. I choose the update for vpilot and the program downloaded and was running as 2.4.0, I confirmed this by seeing the ver 2.4.0 in the upper left corner. I followed suit by updating the .NET and I thought all was well. Checked several times that my CID and p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word were correct. I would start the connection and I would get the unable to connect to voice server, but I was connected to the network. After doing that about 6 times I decided to uninstall vpilot and install a fresh copy. When I did that I was connected to the network without errors. My suggestion is that you uninstall vpilot and reinstall the new one and not just upgrade that the program wants to do on the first time using it, that made my life happier. Not sure if others will benefit from this, but I saw a few with the same situation. Good luck and keep the faith..
